Diary of a cutting-edge crossover composer
18.11.21 – 177 days to go… Just under 6 months to go to the world premiere concert…! It feels very soon to me, with everything I need to do between now and then to get – I hope! – 270 people along to St Giles’ and 500 – 1,000 watching online. We have finally sorted out sufficient broadband speed to be able to do the live stream. I have been spending days and days tidying up tiny details of the individual parts, and sending them to the London Mozart Players musicians who will be playing them, so they can check that the parts are readable and playable, so that we won’t be wasting precious time on those details come the first orchestral rehearsal which is… the day before the concert! (British musicians are renowned for the speed at which they learn new repertoire.)
So, after starting in October 2013, the score will very soon be absolutely finalised. That will be a moment! I’m in the process of sorting out a platform for ticket sales online.
I need HELP to spread the word about the world premiere. Please sign up for the newsletter (on the Contact page) if you haven’t already. Please tell your family and friends about it. Please connect with me on social media and share my posts.
